Noise-wrangling #2

The Noise-wrangling project focuses on the unwanted, peripheral sounds produced by technology in and around performance and concert environments, such as air-conditioning, lights, cooling fans in projectors, passing vehicles etc. The project ‘wrangles’ distractingly noisy environments from these sources, transforming their sonic abstraction into something approaching ‘music’ through the sensitive application of acoustic and electroacoustic instrumentation. The project will focus on three different venues (The Academy of Music, FUGA, & BMC), presenting the diversity of their distinct acoustic environments through three different methods of performance: a multichannel sound installation, an electroacoustic music piece and an interactive lecture.
