Transparent Sound New Music Festival 2015
Does it make any sense to compose for two pianos tuned a quarter-tone apart from each other? Can you make music with a table? What is Carnevalism, and what is its connection to Fluxus, Dada and five young musicians from Vienna? What happens when eight percussionists with headphones and drumsticks walk through downtown Budapest? Which is taller, an average-height musician or a contrabass clarinet? Does music become visible when it is created together by composers and visual artists? Is anything actually worth listening to?
The answers to these questions are waiting for you at the Transparent Sound New Music Festival.
As well as six main concerts the festival programme will include two presentations, a mobile outdoor performance, an exhibition vernissage and electro-acoustic installations.
In addition, to help audiences access the versatile and innovative world of new music, short creative workshops and introductions to the pieces being performed will be held before each concert and between individual performances, helping make the compositional approaches and ideas used more transparent.
Selected works from the Hermina Alkotócsoport will be view- able at every venue, and scores from all performed pieces will be available to study at the Reader ́s Corner in the BMC library.
